Alfie @ 49

It's my boy's 7th birthday today, so I took this photo this morning and thought I would commemorate the day with a layout of him.

I forgot these- LSNED - Day 17 & 18

Oh dear, I am so behind

LSNED - Day 19
I love the abundance of big, juicy tomatoes so I can make lots of delicious soup.

LSNED - Day 22, 23 & 24

I've done 3 days together here because apart from a bit of sleep, alot of travelling and waiting around while Chris was treated for the bends, that's all I did.

LSNED - Day 20 and 21

Ooops, I seem to be behind with uploading these pages.  I'll do the backlog tomorrow hopefully.

LSNED - Day 15 & 16

Millie loves these rope toys but she pulls them to bits, thread by thread and gets bits of it stuck in her teeth.  It's probably best we find her something else she can get her teeth into.

LSNED - Day 12

Adam and Lucy have put an offer in for their first house and it has been accepted!

LSNED - Day 13 & 14

Sometimes I feel as though I can't do things at the weekend until the vacuuming or ironing or whatever is done, but it really can wait until monday.
I am dreadfully untidy and tend to put things in a pile to do "later" instead of dealing with them immediately.  My friend gave me a recipe for plum and hazelnut cake and I'd been out and got all the ingredients and went to make the cake and couldn't find the recipe anywhere.  I searched for ages and in the end had to resort to the internet.  This is a lesson I really do need to learn!!
The cake incidently is lush.

LSNED - Day 8, 9, 10 & 11

The lesson learned on day 8 was basically that I should be more aware of the time.  I very nearly got a parking ticket while stopping to buy a cup of coffee and a scone!
We went to visit our next door neighbour in hospital and just a simple thing like that has huge importance to others.
Holly's friend Steph had a phone call on friday night from her Dad to say their house was on fire.
Something I need to relearn - drink lots of water or get a bad head.

LCNED - Day 7 A green woodpecker

Sometimes I forget the beauty that is around me everyday and this woodpecker was a stark reminder.

Project 12 - July

At long last I've done July's.  Most of the journalling is hidden as it's not really for general reading.

LSNED - Day 5

This has been sitting on my desk all day but I've only just felt like uploading - had a bit of an upset stomach today and have been really tired, probably due to Millie keeping me awake the last week or so.

LSNED - Day 4

I thought making a bit of jam was going to be easy but I forgot the lemon juice so it wouldn't set.  I had to send Chris out to get a couple of lemons so I could complete the task!  Let's hope it tastes as good as it looks now.

Project 12 - August

I still have July's to do and must try and get it done in the next few days.  For this one I have used Spetember's sketch as I really didn't have many photos for August.

LSNED Day 3

Today I had a bit of a catastrophe in that I was putting some cheese on the top of my cottage pie and when I went to put it in the oven, I tipped it up and half of it spilled all over the oven floor. I scooped up what I could and put it back in the dish.  To cut a long story short, I normally feed the dogs as soon as we have eaten but with the mess in the oven I completely forgot.  Millie came up to me about eight thirty, crying.  I got up and she took me to their food cupboard and of course I remembered.  Clever Millie.

Learn Something New Every Day with Shimelle

It's that time of year again and I am hoping I will complete this september's LSNED.  I think I missed out on a couple of pages last year.
This is the front cover.  The size is 7" x 5" - a new size for me, but I didn't want to go too big and I am going to try and keep everything simple and not worry too much about the decoration so that I can keep up.  After all, it is about the lessons I learn:)

The journalling says " Today was a bit of a reality check.  I went to Emma's to do her ironing and managed to speak to her - she was on her way to London to see a lady who specialises in treating hair when you're having chemo.  It made me think that I am taking my own health for granted.  I do have high blood pressure and high cholesteroal but I CAN do something about these so I am going to try and eat more healthily so that maybe I can come off my tablets at some point.  Emma can't do anything about her cancer.

I've struggled with this card for days, whatever I did, it just wasn't right.  I had to base it on Westlife and Winnie the Pooh and the person in question was going to be 30.  Last night I asked Chris to come up with some ideas and he just said, why don't you do a stage?  The rest was easy after that:)
