Countdown to Christmas - Cookies in a jar

Today it's my turn to show you a simple Christmas gift as part of the Countdown to Christmas with Creative Craft World.
Inside the jar are the ingredients needed to make some double chocolate cookies, the recipient will need  to add 3 further ingredients..  You layer each ingredient up into the jar so you can see the different coloured layers.

Here is the recipe:

110g plain flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
75 g firmly packed brown sugar
75g caster sugar
65 g rolled oats
130g dark chocolate chips
130g white chocolate chips

Pack each layer carefully into your chosen jar.

Make a tag - I used a standard sized luggage tag and decorated the front and on the back gave the instructions on how to finish off the recipe and make the cookies:

This is what goes on the back of the tag:-

Cookies in a Jar

Prep - 10 minutes  Cooking - 15 minutes   Makes - 24

Extra ingredients for making cookies:

125g butter, melted and cooled
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

To make cookies, preheat oven to 190C.  Line 2 baking trays with baking parchment.  Empty jar into large bowl.  Add butter, egg and vanilla and stir well until combined.  Shape tablespoons of mixture into balls and place on baking tray about 5cm apart.  Flatten slightly.  Bake for 10-15 minutes, swapping trays halfway through, until edges are lightly browned.  Turn biscuits onto a wire rack to cool.

I hope you give these a go.  If you do, please leave me a link so I can pop over and have a look!

Pop back tomorrow for another Countdown to Christmas project.
